Florence, Italy

Florence was such a lovely city, full of beautiful buildings, bridges and statues. We ported in Livorno, Italy and took a 1 hour train ride into the city. We had a bike tour planned that took us to the major sites and a stop at the best gelato we had the entire trip. At this particular gelato place they offered nutella (not the ice cream, the REAL nutella) along with a scoop of any flavor you could dream up. It was heavenly. Still thinking about it today! We also stopped off at a hole in the wall restaurant, by recommendation, that served us the yummiest pasta we've ever had. The grandma was in the kitchen making it while her sons were at the counter running the place. What a fun experience that was. Here are some of my pictures (from the bike, ha!)
This first picture was taken from the bridge Ponte Vecchio. Behind be on the bridge, it is filled with stores that have been there since the 13th centery. The only stores allowed on the bridge are jewlery stores.

Rome, Italy

Our next port was Civitavecchia, we got off the ship and took an hour train ride into Rome. We had booked a segway tour in advance, which was a ton of fun. We pulled right up to the sites! Our guide was so full of facts and knowledge and had a great personality as well. Here are just a few....

Sailing the Mediterranean- Capri, Italy

We've just returned from sailing the Mediterranean on the NCL Epic!
We're back from the vacation of a lifetime! So many sites to see and memories made. This was by far one of our favorite vacations ever. Over the rest of the summer I'll be posting snip its from our trip and the interesting places we visited. First post is from Capri. We ported in Naples, Italy and took the Hydrofoil over to the small island of Capri. Rick and I adventured off on our own and walked the small, winding streets. The air smelled of fresh fruit and flowers. We then took the chair lift to the top of Anacapri where the breath taking views were. Here are a few pictures from the top. This was by far the most beautiful place I've ever been to.

Carnival Magic {February 2012}

We’ve just returned from our 6th cruise and it was oh so lovely! The brand new Carnival Magic is highly recommended, especially if you have school aged kids. There are all kinds of slides, ropes courses and tons of stuff for them to do. Here are a few shots from our trip. The sunsets were spectacular each night, and so different at the same time.

While in Cozumel we booked The Amazing Race Cozumel excursion and we won 1st place!

The NCL Sky {December 2011}

We sailed the NCL Sky for our 12th Anniversary. This was a last minute, cheap 3 day cruise to the Bahamas. The NCL Sky sails 3 & 4 night cruises from the port of Miami.
We enjoyed our time together and loved reading in the warm sun. But I will say this was not our favorite ship. We did enjoy the private island- Great Stirrup Cay and the specialty dining at the french restaurant Le Bistro. The ship is old and tired, and we noticed it smells like kitchen, all over! We are not going to let our first time on NCL let us down. We do look forward to our sailing on their newest ship The Epic in the summer of 2012.
This was the first cruise I didn't bring my big Nikon on, gasp! So all the photos are from my iphone 4s.

 While in Nassau, we booked a really fun segway tour along the beach. It was so much fun that we can't wait to segway again!

Shows on The Disney Dream

The shows that The Disney Cruise Line puts on are phenomenal! They are all different, but each one has a snip it of the Disney movies that we all love so much.

Cruella De Vil, she was awesome, her car rose out from the stage as the song Cruella De Vil played in the background.

The Little Mermaid swam all over, she was suspended from the roof and she flapped her tail all about. The starfish were doing cart wheels and Sebastian the crab (shown below) danced around. During her song a huge bubble maker blew bubbles all over us in the audience. It was magical!

Let me just say that Tarzan was a HUNK! Take a looksie for yourself:
